Hellgate: Korea Version 1.5 and 1.51b Patch Notes
« on: Sep 13, 2009; 02:18 am »
1.50
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Patch Distribution Changes
- Improved background downloading. Many files will now be downloaded on the need basis instead of all at once, meaning loading new areas may take longer, but you will not have to download 2+ gigs worth of data to start.

- Improved file reading performance; files that were originally stored on your computer in the Hellgate_000.dat folders, etc, are now stored on the server. This means that the game client will no longer crash irregularly when it fails to check for a file in the Hellgate_000.dat folder(s).

New Skills Changes
- The skills have been reset to the 1.3 skills. The 1.3 skills have been changed, and in some cases they are dramatically new skills. The skills from 2.0 will be brought back after we have had better time to balance the classes on the test server.

Balance Changes
- Fixed a horrible bug that was causing shots to hit multiple times per frame instead of once. Monsters such as stalkers no longer do ridiculous amounts of damage with their fire breath.

- The armor, weapon, shield, power regen, etc. balance changes have been reset to 1.3. They need more time to be balanced before they will be put back into the game. Plan on seeing them in a later patch.

● Ignite

    * Deals damage equal to 3% of your maximum HP value instead of taking off 1% of your HP per second.
    * Furthermore, monsters now take 30% more damage from ignite, and players take 30% less damage from ignite.

● Poison

    * Poison now deals damage equal to 1% of your maximum life, modified by the poison attack strength on your weapon.
    * The duration of poison is now also based upon the amount of toxic damage dealt - more toxic damage will result in longer poison durations.
    * As with ignite, monsters now take 30% more damage from poison and players take 30% less.

● Phase

    * Phased Monsters and Players take 30% more damage instead of 50%.
    * Phased Monsters and Players deal 70% damage instead of 50%.

Class Changes

Guardian

● Taunt Abilities

- These have been consolidated into two skills instead of four.

    * Challenge has Provoke built into it now.
    * Denounce now has Heavenly Condemnation built into it.

● Shield Skills

- Shield Bash has been given inherent damage bonus that starts at 5% and increases in 5% increments, starting at level 2.

- The Guardian can no longer use Shield Bash while jumping.

- Stampede now has an inherent damage bonus of 50%, beginning at level 1. The damage scales to your level.

- All shield skills now can be used with Two Handed Swords

    * Shield bash makes the Guardian do a "pushing/thrust" attack with his blade.
    * Shield Turn makes the Guardian do a whirlwind.
    * Charge is the equivalent of the Blademaster's charge.
    * Stampede is the equivalent of the Blademaster's path of righteousness.

● Anchor

-Anchor's tool-tip now lists the first damage boost as 30% and from then on it increases in 6% increments per skill point.

-Please keep in mind that this damage boost is now factored into OVERALL damage - so it is actually an improvement. Guns will deal noticeably higher damage as well as melee.

● Aura Skills

- Aura of Thorns has been removed and replaced with the Blademaster's "Thorns" ability.

● Offensive Skills

- The Guardian has been given two new abilities, "Onslaught" and "Blessed Onslaught". These replace Provoke and Heavenly Condemnation, and thus items that provided bonuses to the aforementioned skills will now provide bonuses to the new skills instead.

    * Onslaught raises the Guardian's critical hit chance by 1% per skill point; it caps at 4.
    * Blessed Onslaught raises the Guardian's critical damage by 15% per point, it caps at 7.

● Magic Skills

- Great Defender's cooldown goes down per skill point invested, and its duration has been increased per point invested.

- Prayer of Retribution now deals much more damage, has a much higher use rate and can be used while jumping. It now also does not share a cooldown with Prayer of Healing.

Blademaster

● Passive Abilities

- Parry (new ability, replaces Thorns)

    * Gives the blademaster a % chance to totally ignore being hit/damaged.
    * Also gives the blademaster a % chance to reflect the damage back at the opponent, if they are in melee range.
    * At skill level 10, the chance to ignore damage is 40%.
    * At skill level 10, the chance to reflect is 25%, along with a 50% increase in reflected damage.

● Green-Line Sword Skills

-Whirlwind:

    * 5% critical chance per skill level.
    * 15% damage increased per HIT with each skill level.
    * 30% reduced cool down.

● Surges

    * All surges now have a 6% chance to proc on hit (versus Flagship's 12%).
    * Surge Mastery increases surge probability by 6% per skill point (versus FS's 3%).
    * Surge Mastery also enhances all surges by 2% per skill point (Flagship's version did not have this feature.)

● Yellow Line

    * Onslaught now provides the BM a passive 1% increase in crit chance per skill point.
    * Charge & Path of Righteousness now have Onslaught's old bonuses built into them.
    * In addition, Charge & Path of Righteousness retain their shield overload bonuses (Flagship's version lost the overload bonus.)
    * Finally, both Onslaught and Path of Righteousness have a chance to cause "Bleeding Damage" to enemies. This effect causes them to lose life over time.

● Red Line
-Sword of Authority

    * Provides a 100% increase damage boost (versus Flagship's 200%) at level 1.
    * Each level provides 30% more damage.
    * Each level adds a 5% critical chance.

● Blue Line
-Cross Cutter

    * Behaves more like a boomerang missile projectile.
    * Reduces target movement speed by 10% per skill point.

Summoner

- All summons have increased use rates (it takes less time to wait before performing another summon)

- All summons will now teleport to you if you run too far away from them or enter a new dungeon instance. They will only be killed if you enter a town/station.

- The Summoner now has access to poison spirit, venom armor and swarm.

    * Poison Spirit increases by one extra spirit at levels 4, 7 and 10.
    * Poison Spirit's distance is now doubled per skill point.
    * Swarm has a base damage increase of 20%.
    * Swarm's damage range is increased by 10% per point.
    * Swarm's radius is increased by 5% per point.

● Summon Circle

-has been moved to level 5, it no longer requires a pre-req.

● New Skill: Summoning Empowerment

    * Prerequisite is Summon Circle, level 1.
    * Maximum skill level is 7.
    * Increases the armor of summons by 25% per level.
    * Increases the elemental defense of summons by 300 per level.
    * Increases the use rate of summoning by 5% per level.
    * Eliminates shared cool-downs between summons.
    * Passive skill.

● Warper
- Inevitable nerf: greatly reduced damage.
- Skill description has been altered to better explain damage increases per skill point.
- Cooldowns on Spectral Strike and Spectral Storm are no longer shared, and have been lowered.
- The Warper's life is still determined by a random number; we need more time to approach balancing the warper's HP.

- New Skill: Elemental Revenge -

    * Replaces Master of Flame; increases damage of all elements instead. Available at level 5.

-New Skill: Elemental Fortitude -

    * Completely new skill, increases the health of elementals.

- Elemental power consumption was being incorrectly calculated; this has been fixed.

Other Unlisted 1.50 Changes and Previous 1.35 changes:

--------------------------------------------------------

World Map Changes

- Stonehenge's Entrance has been Moved to the Maritime Museum
- An Extra "under attack" station has been added to Act 3 to coincide with the new London Bridge area.
- The dungeons between Mark Lane station have been changed so that there are now one on each side of Mark Lane... it will not take as (nearly) as long to get to the Broker.
- Templar Base can now only be reached in Act 4; the entrance to Parliament Square/the Abyss has been removed until further notice.

New Boss for Act 3
- Angel Passage has been removed and thus Occulus has been removed as well. There is a new boss at the end of act 3, which can be found at the London Bridge area.

Balance Changes
- Monster Level Distribution in both Normal and Nightmare are more spread out; they do not level up as fast.

- Certain item types and their enhanced/rare/legendary/unique counter-parts now drop more frequently at higher levels (I.E. Masamune Nodachis will drop off of even level 50+ monsters).

- Palladium drops, palladium given back by vendors, scrap amounts and quest palladium rewards have been increased (I.E. You will easily hit "Baby You're a Rich Man" before you're done with act 1).

- Luck range has been adjusted. Luck is now also effected by monthly/seasonal events; in some cases luck can be detrimental to your item drops*

* Announcements will be made when luck will have adverse effects.

The Second Invasion Expansion Pack!

- Talox, Squadro, Fulcrum, Dreadnaught and the unrevealed Fiend Tank have been moved to new areas; Parliament Square has been held back until further balancing and code correction adjustements are finished. New bosses may replace them!

- You can now find the above mentioned Abyss bosses with new, actual demon names (I.E. Talox is now Astaroth), located in special expansion areas that can be found in each act. All of these expansion areas are intended for high level characters or parties of 2 or more players. They can be very difficult, so it is strongly recommended not to attempt them on Hardcore until you have tested them on regular.

      * These areas are unlocked using special items. Murmur will give you the first one, the subsequent ones can only be obtained from the boss of each area found within each act.
      * You will need to find a certain number of seal items, in addition to the item murmur gives you. The seals can be found in drops from champion monsters in each act.
      * Each difficulty has a different level set for the acts monsters. Also, seals found on normal will not work in nightmare, and vice versa.
      * Moloch will now also drop varying quantities of these seals.

- In addition, the above areas have higher chances to drop end game calibur armor (I.E. Overlord/Angelic/Omnipotent calibur), as well as the new set items, and new weapons that can only be found as mythic weapons (I.E. Gleamcarvers, Dissector shields and Swords, Glyph Cages, etc.)

- 4 new dye kits can drop in the above areas as well. Each one raises a particular attribute by an amount determined by the dye kit's level.

- Also, special blueprints for items not findable anywhere else in the game can drop off of the bosses of the above mentioned areas. These include:

     - Health and power injectors of varying quality that have no cooldowns.
     - Small, medium and large bag expansion items (work similar to the cube; you cannot put a bag within a bag).
     - Other types of consumable items that can give you buffs; similar to the Guy Fawkes event items.

NOTE: New weapons have been renamed; for example:
      * Dissector Sword - Plague Grinder
      * Gleamcarver - Beam Carver
      * Dissector Shield - Wyrmguard
      * Thumper - Gatling Grenade Launcher

- The Summoner now has access to poison spirit, venom armor and swarm.

* Poison Spirit increases by one extra spirit at levels 4, 7 and 10.
* Poison Spirit's distance is now doubled per skill point.
* Swarm has a base damage increase of 20%.
* Swarm's damage range is increased by 10% per point.
* Swarm's radius is increased by 5% per point.

that's a pretty radical change, I don't like it

I didn't like it either. I think it might have been done to give a Darkform summoner more to do since they use those special claw focus items. But until they add in the rest of the Abyss... well, I don't want to get into the balance problems that it could cause (or the possible waste of space on the skill tree.)

Meh... HCE was the biggest incentive to think about playing there, but if normal and elite are merged then that just about kills it for me.

That and now most of the maps are static, not random.

No, not unless you've got a korean social security number.
Considering the post previous to yours was on the 14th of September, there's probably a fair amount that has changed since then.

Shenanigans...i call it...
oh and...Necrothread >.>
all seriousness though...if you want this stuff you would have to do some not so legal things ^.^
*announcer voice* We do not condone the use of illegal acts as a means of utilizing the Korean version of Hellgate:London *end of announcer voice*
but seriously...no illegal stuff(that we want to hear about...ignorance is bliss as they say)

I think you guys are all missing the point.

This:

NOTE: New weapons have been renamed; for example:
* Dissector Sword - Plague Grinder
* Gleamcarver - Beam Carver
* Dissector Shield - Wyrmguard
* Thumper - Gatling Grenade Launcher

They named a gun after me!

An honor. Truly, an honor.
